Joined Door

In order to provide doors over 48 inches in height we employ a doweled joint system for combining two doors to function as one.
This ensures that the final door will be stronger and more resistant to warping. It can also save on shipping costs for extremely tall doors.

To order a joined door, calculate the finished size by measuring the opening and accounting for your desired overlay. Divide the resulting height by two and order two doors with the calculated width and new calculated height.

Select one door as Joined – Upper, and one door as Joined – Lower.
If you opted for hinge drilling, be sure that both doors are configured to be drilled on the same side. We will put the dowel joint on the side opposite the hinge. If you are drilling for your own hinges, be sure to attach them on the side opposite the dowel joint.
